Weighing Reagents: Non anhydrous conditions

  1. You should never forget to tare the flasks/paper in which you will weigh the reactants.

  2. Weigh your reactants, into your reaction flask, onto weighing paper, or into a separate flask (a pointy flask is useful for reagents that will be added in solvent). Consult your procedure to see what is necessary. Do not mix anything yet, and do not weigh sensitive reagents until just before use.

  3. Never forget to return/reorganize all the reactants back to their correct places in the laboratory, and close them with the parafilm to avoid exposures, and wash the used materials (firstly with acetone from the yellow bottle and then distilled water from the white bottle).
